Our Mission:
"Our mission is to raise funds to create Mabry Park; a park for current and future generations to connect with nature, history, and the community."
The Power of 3 - It's Exponential!
We are often asked, "When will the park be built?" The answer is simple. We can begin to use the park as soon as we get the access road built!
If you will donate $50 or $100 dollars today, and recruit 3 friends in the next 3 weeks to also do the same, we will have enough funds to build the road in 6 months or less!
Volunteer Spotlight
Mabry Park's tree planting hero, Stan Herdlein has been a resident of Loch Highland subdivision for almost 20 years, and of Atlanta for more than double that. Stan remembers when Highway 92 was a 2-lane road, and subdivisions were pockets amongst large tracts of farm land - not the other way around. Stan expressed that he misses the open fields, and is concerned about how quickly the remaining farm land is disappearing.
From the first public meeting he attended at Mountain View Regional Library, Stan was interested in making Mabry Park a reality. From sharing his ideas, to volunteering to help out with community events, public awareness and fundraising, Stan has been an active "Friend of Mabry Park."
Stan worked with staff from Cobb County Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Department, along with the administration, parents and children of Garrison Mill Elementary school and Cub Scout Pack 471 to organize the tree planting day.
Stan is a person who feels that it is "important to give back," and that is evident in his enthusiasm and energy in volunteering his time to transform Mabry Park from a concept to reality for area residents and visitors to enjoy.
Thank you, Stan!
A big Thank You goes out to Ms. Kendra Brindley Garrison Mill Student Council for their energy, enthusiasm, and sincerity in supporting the Money for Mabry Park fundraiser. The response was overwhelming!
Thank you, Ms Brindley!

Parks are essential to the health of individuals and communities. They offer recreation and renewal, promote exercise, reduce crime, revitalize neighborhoods, protect the environment, and bring communities together.

Money for the Park at Garrison Mill is a Huge Success!
Garrison Mill Elementary students collected coins, bills and checks. Including over 160 pounds of coins (wow!), the students collected almost $2500 to support the development of Mabry Park. Ms. Hohn's class collected the highest amount, $301.26. They will receive a commemorative brick to be installed in the park as well as an outdoor picnic. Ms. Golden's and Ms. Brindley's classrooms came in second and third with $286.83 and $194.49. They will also receive a Mabry Park brick.
Thank you, Principal Geisler, for supporting Mabry Park! And thanks to Debra for working tirelessly to help pioneer and execute this fundraiser. This program will serve as a model for similar future fundraisers.

NE Cobb Community Pitches in to Plant Trees in Mabry Park
A big Thank You to Cobb County, Garrison Mill Elementary and Cub Scout Pack 471. King of the mountain took on a whole new meaning for these cubs and their families. What a great effort from our community!
Not only will the 60 trees planted on the park land help provide a future habitat for wildlife, and a buffer for the adjacent properties, but it provided Cub Scout Pack 471 and other children and their parents a "hands on" way to contribute to the development of the park, and one that will hold lasting meaning and memories.
